Compared to other conferences, how much effort was it to be a reviewer or area chair for ICML2010?
#Response DateComments:
1Jun 10, 2010 8:29 PM... but also because I had very interesting discussions!
2Jun 10, 2010 10:46 PMThe online system was very inefficient and caused significant added burden.
3Jun 11, 2010 1:07 PMThs system is time consuming because it lacks direct access to papers with their reviews. Instead, you have to scroll through all the reviews when looking for a certain one.
4Jun 11, 2010 2:17 PMI found the procedure too complicated, it requires too much effort compared to the gain in selection quality. I do think the review quality was high, in the sense that reviews were long and thorough, but that does not necessarily mean that the whole selection process has become less random; there is still much variance among reviewers with respect to how strict they are.
5Jun 11, 2010 4:44 PMLast year's NIPS model had scheduled skype calls. I think this was good.
6Jun 12, 2010 1:13 AMThis was my first time as an AC so it's hard for me to judge.
7Jun 14, 2010 10:10 AMMainly because I had only 10 papers to handle!
